MATThew MATHISON
FOUNDER, MANAGING PARTNER
As a longtime entrepreneur, operator and investor, Matthew is fueled by an unwavering commitment to problem-solving, conquering challenges, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
Drawing inspiration from many personal experiences, including athletics where hustle, grit, and determination run deep in his veins, he brings these qualities to the business arena daily. With almost 25 years of entrepreneurial expertise, he has witnessed firsthand that the key to success lies in continuously addressing what is broken, enhancing what is working, and pioneering innovative solutions that may not be apparent at first glance. This is what thriving is all about. True success stems from an unending and relentless drive to improve, innovate, and create. This belief has guided his career path, and importantly inspired the creation of this new platform.
Before co-founding MBL Partners, Matthew served as a Managing Partner at Fifth Partners and actively participated as an operating partner at several of Fifth’s portfolio companies, investment committee member, and a core leader behind Fifth’s central services group. Matthew has helped create, build, operate, fix, restructure, merge and sell many businesses in many different sectors and internationally including financial services, technology, real estate, energy, consumer, and services.
Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University. Outside of his professional career, Matthew is a hobbyist bee keeper, avid fan of all of Colorado’s professional sports teams (Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies and Avalanche) and loves traveling and spending time with his wife and four children.
JAMES lINDSLEY
FOUNDER, MANAGING PARTNER
Jimmy is a Managing Partner at MBL Partners, where he leverages his extensive experience in investment due diligence, corporate transformation and operational excellence to drive innovative strategies and growth for clients, portfolio companies, and partners.
Before co-founding MBL Partners, Jimmy served as a Partner at Cicero® Group, overseeing the firm’s Corporate Transformation and Private Equity Due Diligence practices. His expertise encompasses organizational transformation, post-merger integration strategy, change management, pricing optimization, customer success, and leveraging data analytics to drive strategic business decisions.
Jimmy's professional journey includes a pivotal role at Goldman, Sachs & Co. within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and related funds, he focused on liquidity reporting, fund accounting, and trade allocation/settlement. His leadership in global and regional projects delivered significant advancements in financial/operational analysis, systems integration, benchmark reporting, risk mitigation, and process standardization.
Jimmy received an MBA and B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. Outside of his professional career, Jimmy is an avid golfer and tennis player, hobbyist beekeeper, and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
CALLIE RAHE
CHIEF OF STAFF & DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
Callie serves as the Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Initiatives at MBL Partners, where she leads the firm-wide operating rhythm, strategic execution, and internal systems. With a background rooted in large-scale transformation and operational excellence, she is a core leader behind MBL’s people and talent development initiatives. Callie’s approach combines analytical rigor with a systems-level mindset, ensuring that the firm’s strategic vision is translated into measurable, long-term results across the portfolio.
Prior to joining MBL Partners, Callie built an extensive career in strategy and operations. She served in key roles at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and ExxonMobil, where she managed complex projects and operations across diverse sectors and leading companies. Her experience in navigating high-stakes corporate transformations allows her to bring a unique, systems-level perspective to the MBL leadership team.
Callie holds an MBA from Rice University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Outside of her professional career, Callie is highly active, enjoying sand volleyball, golf, skiing, hiking, and frequenting local fitness classes. She lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and their pup, and is currently looking forward to welcoming a new addition to her family this June.
JOHN LEWIS
PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER & DIRECTOR OF AI STRATEGY
John is a technology strategist, educator, and entrepreneur specializing in AI-driven systems, cloud architecture, and secure digital transformation. He brings a unique blend of academic rigor and real-world implementation, helping organizations bridge the gap between emerging technologies and practical business outcomes.
Drawing from his experience as an IT professor and consultant, John designs and deploys scalable solutions that integrate AI agents, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks. His work focuses on building intelligent ecosystems that enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and future-proof organizations in an increasingly data-driven world.
With a background in both military service and higher education, John approaches problem-solving with discipline, adaptability, and a systems-level mindset. He has led initiatives across cloud computing, cybersecurity, and AI orchestration, with a particular emphasis on secure, compliant, and resilient architectures.
John holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from Arizona State University and is currently completing his Doctorate in Information Technology. Outside of his professional work, he is passionate about personal development, health optimization, and building a legacy for his family.
